OUR STORY

HOW WE GOT STARTED

Ancestral began with a a trip to Tequila, Mexico.

There, founder, Roxana Aguirre discovered that the Mexican agaves are being over harvested and are not being respected by many of the brands that are available to us. This combined with the sudden rise in celebrities bandwagoning into the industry made us realize that we needed to change how we view and purchase these products. Thus, “Ancestral” was born.

We work together with maestros of agave (mezcaleros, raiclleros, tequileros etc..) and importers to bring you the best of Mexico's spirits. We want to connect and build stronger relationships with these brands to create a unique one-of-a kind bottle shop.

Ancestral is very special because it has become a way to showcase our culture through agave spirits, food and artisan home goods.
